Dear Colleagues and Friends!
We would like to express our thanks to all participants of the 4th DeltaCure Meeting, held on October 9-10, 2025, in Hannover. The meeting was without any doubt a true milestone in the field of Hepatitis D research. With almost 80 original cutting-edge contributions, highly topical and inspiring lectures, and a special symposium chaired by the head of the WHO Global Hepatitis Programme Funmi Lesi, the DeltaCure Meeting once again highlighted the scientific and clinical momentum of this field.
Our deepest gratitude goes to the exceptional faculty for their outstanding contributions and commitment. Yet, the real foundation of this year’s success was the active participation of many young scientists and clinicians, who presented cutting-edge data spanning the full spectrum of Hepatitis D - from natural history and diagnostics to therapeutic approaches, disease mechanisms, and novel treatment strategies.
A special word of appreciation goes to Professor Pei-Jer Chen from Taipei, recipient of this year’s Delta Cure Award, who delivered a truly fascinating Special Lecture covering multiple aspects of Hepatitis D virus replication. His presentation was one of the scientific highlights of the meeting.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to our sponsors and partners, whose generous support made this meeting possible.
We would also like to extend our deepest thanks to the entire team of the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Infectious Diseases, and Endocrinology at Hannover Medical School. With great dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm, they made this symposium possible. The team was fantastically coordinated by Mirjam Schöl, whose exceptional organizational talent and tireless efforts ensured that everything ran smoothly and successfully. This meeting would not have been the same without her.
We hope that all of you will keep Hannover in fond memory. The atmosphere throughout the conference was remarkably positive, open, and stimulating - fostering lively discussions and, hopefully, paving the way for new collaborations and innovative projects in the years to come.
We are already looking forward to seeing you again next year at the 5th Delta Cure Meeting, 15-16 October 2026, when Delta Cure will return to Milan, Italy.
With warm regards and gratitude,
Heiner Wedemeyer and Pietro Lampertico
